Our Coaches

Peta Goodsell - Head Coach Riverton Leisureplex

Peta started with Riverton in December 2006. Peta brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise and experience to the coaching team along with her recently acquired Silver License. Peta’s commitment to swimming in Western Australia spans twenty years as a parent, swim teacher, coach and manager. For the past five years, Peta has coached one of the strongest junior swimming programs within the state, with numerous swimmers achieving State Medals, State Records and qualifying for Australian Age Championships.

Carolyn Bodey - Junior High Performance Coach

Carolyn has been around the pool deck for many years as a swimming mum and club registrar.  She has a passion for the development of juniors in stroke and fitness and is now the coach and in charge of the development of our young talent.  Carolyn continues to merge her job as club registrar with coaching and is able to provide detailed meet/qualifying  formation which assists with the development of the pathway for junior achievement.  Carolyn also provides strong pool deck support for Senior Coach Peta when needed.

Kate Shyrock and Laura Shyrock - Assistant Coaches, Former National Swimmers

Kate and Laura were extremely successful State and National Age Swimmers. Their experience and first hand knowledge provides us with support and skills which assist in all parts of our programme. They had very successful swimming careers with Laura specialising in distance freestyle including Open Water and Kate in middle distance swimming.  Kate and Laura are always willing to assist in any part of our competitive programme that needs them and still willing to keep getting up early mornings long after they have to dive in the pool.
