CHELSEA UNWIN BREAKS STATE RECORDS

Chelsea Unwin smashed the 200m State breaststroke Residential and All time record last weekend. The old All time mark of 2.49 had been held since 1987 and the Residential a newer record set in 2004.

Chelsea’s new time of 2.47.68 will set her amongst the best in Australia leading into age nationals in April.

On the last night of competition Chelsea came out firing in the 100m breaststroke and again took out the residential record in a new time of 1.19.06.

Chelsea is well known in our squad as a great worker and deserves all her success.

OPEN WATER STATES CHAMPION

Congratulations to Jen Blaxill who won her age group at the State Open Water 5km last weekend at Sorrento. As Open Water has now been added to the Olympic Sport schedule it has raised the level of competition and hence to win in her first year of competition of this kind is an outstanding result for Jen. Bring on Nationals in Victoria.

Well done Jen…fantastic time and result.

RBM Inaugural Meet

Thanks to everyone in the club who helped to make our inaugural meet on Sunday such a resounding success. The teamwork was good to see and everyone chipped in, including our senior swimmers. We have cleared over $3000 which is a great addition to our fundraising. More importantly all the junior swimmers who entered had a great meet and enjoyed themselves. If you can think of ways we can improve for next year please let me know.
